Planning an Adventure Photo Session in Aruba
I first met Nitu in San Francisco, California where I live. I was photographing a corporate lifestyle project for Dropbox and Nitu was on the branding and marketing team. We had a great time creating together and Nitu and her team loved the photos. Shortly after that photo project, Nitu and Sachin asked me to photograph their 5-day Indian destination wedding in Aruba. This was an easy yes ; )
On our first day on the island, my team and I embarked on a multiple hour journey across Aruba location scouting for the perfect settings for our adventure session. Despite its modest size, measuring just 21 miles in length and 6 miles in width, Aruba offers a diverse landscape waiting to be explored. Much of the island remains wild, preserved as national parks and nature reserves. As we left the well-traveled highways behind, we quickly realized the importance of having a high-clearance, all-wheel-drive vehicle, for Aruba’s terrain can be rugged. Nestled in a rain shadow, this Caribbean jewel has a captivating desert climate with rolling hills, other worldly rock formations, towering cacti, and even majestic sand dunes. In essence, it’s a destination wedding photographer’s dreamscape.
We found some incredible photo spots and planned out two separate adventure wedding photo sessions: the first at sunset and the second at sunrise the following morning.
“Drew!! Your photos are MAGIC and take us right back to Aruba and one of the best weeks of our lives. Thank you!!”
“These adventure sessions are a perfect addition to your wedding experience, best enjoyed on days separate from your actual wedding day. They offer a fantastic opportunity to explore an array of captivating locations, deepen your connection with your photographer, and capture stunning images, all without the constraints of time pressure.”
